How do I calculate the Canadian money into USA money for a Ultimate Vacation?
Jennaboots asked:
I am doing a project for my summer school CALM class on an Ultimate Vacation. The total amount of money I am given is $2000.00 and I need to figure out how much that’ll be in USA cash. Plus, it’s also like a budget so basically I can not go over that specific amount.

There are many websites for currency conversion. See the one below.

If it is just an exercise for a class,
you can get a very good approximation
by using $1 C = $ 1 US - the exchange
rate has been right around 1-1 for quite
some time.
For up to the minute exact rates, check
Right on the front page they have all the popular
currencies.
Tonight, 1 USD = 1.01379 CD and
1 CD = 0.98640 USD
Tomorrow, the rates will have changed
by a fraction of a cent in one direction or
the other, and the next day again.
Using 1-1 would only be off by less than 1.5%,
which might be within the acceptable margin
of error on a class exercise of $2000, since it
amounts to just $30.
The “Big Boys” who trade millions every day
care plenty about those 4th and 5th decimal places.
Tourists and visitors do not.
