This is a highly debatable subject.
What makes an aircraft the best model.
Some will say that the c-172 is a one of the best becasue of the stablity, the ease of flying, low fuel burn, low opertating costs, and high relablity, but others will aslo say this is not due to low performance, high price tag.
To choose a top model, their has to be some critiera established to judge an aircaft by, and the critera is based on the role the aircraft is trying to fill such as long range international travel or commutter range, wide /narrow body, runways it will be operating out of >5,000 or less than 5,000′ as turboprops are better suited for short runways due to the lower approach speeds. Each aircraft has a role that it fills the best, but selecting the top 20 depends on the role your trying to put the aircraft in.. you wouldnt want to fly a B-747 from Detroit to Toledo
