Bruce Springsteen: Born in the USA
1984 Bruce Springsteen: “Born in the USA” Born down in a dead man’s town The first kick I took was when I hit the ground You end up like a dog that’s been beat too much Till you spend half your life just covering up Born in the USA I was born in the USA I was born in the USA Born in the USA Got in a little hometown jam So they put a rifle in my hand Sent me off to a foreign land To go and kill the yellow man Born in the USA I was born in the USA I was born in the USA I was born in the USA …

The political reasoning behind this song says so much, so inspiring. Born in CANADA……… Couldn’t be more proud. Take note America. It’s not about the economy or personal gain…… It’s about doing what’s right…. The gov failed not the vets….

Thank you for being one of the FEW people that actually gets this song! I get irritated when people use it as a show of patriotism. Again, I commend you for using your brain and I thank you!

You and yogurtpots are both wrong. The songs about the mistreatment of war veterans by the government as well as the public. The chorus is not so much a yell of pride but as a scream of defiance against the apparently ungrateful country which they fought and died for; its meant to be passionate and even a little angry, not a song of patriotism. But apparently flew over most peoples heads. Probably the same people who think Stings’ “I’ll Be Watching You” is a love song.

This is the 1st time Ive ever heard this claim that Springsteen wanted the vets to pay their own medical bills…if there is any truth to it then my opinion of him certainly is affected but I was allways under the impression that Springsteen was for the vietnam vets

you don’t realize this song is about how America screwed the Nam vets, and are now screwing the Afghan/Iraq vets…And Springsteen had the balls to stand with The Messiah who wanted to charge line of duty injured vets for their VA care, but wanted MORE free medical for his welfare minions. You people are fucking clueless.
