How can India get rid of corruption in govt and criminals in politics?
chillyoung asked:
India has 2 major obstacles in the way to progress-corrupt govt officials and criminals in politics. The 2 are so much hand in glove that it is impossible for an honest man to work without facing threats to his/her life. The Q therefore is what we can do to weed the 2 out so that this country may make progress speedily.

If you find out, let me know.
Seriously, this sort of thing seems to be even worse in third world countries than in industrialized ones. It tends to go away as the electorate becomes more educated and better able to figure out which politicians are corrupt. So I’m guessing that it will diminish as India continues to make rapid economic progress.

We here in Americorp are having similar problems with our “leaders”, but we know who the criminals are, and the ones that are supposed to act refuse to do so, meaning, we have layers of corruption that reinforce each other, all by clever manipulation over 8 short years.
The only answer I can think of is swift public execution, seems to have worked for Sadam.

when it can not be prohibited at least regulate them-
by out sourcing to non govt instrumentality’s -by conferring guide power on the power holders - forefeiting the unlawfull gains made beyond their known source of income.
that govt is best that governs the least.

corruption in govt. offices can be reduced by installing secret camera, audio recorders to catch and weed out corrupt govt. officials accepting/ insisting on bribe. The culture of the society should look down on corrupt govt. officials, there should be wide coverage given to convince govt. servants to be happy and content with their salaries and perks, and work honestly for the uplift of society. Only people with such views should be given govt. jobs.
The election commission should weed out candidates with criminal or dark backgrounds and not allow them to contest the election.

You and I can do that. Think before we vote. And definitely vote.
