What are the bright sides and the dark sides of politics?
♥me!♥ asked:
Regarding politics in general (not the President or specific political issues), what would you say is the “bright side” of politics and the “dark side” of politics?

Bright side - big money. Dark side - a war.

On the bright side, we get to vote and choose. On the dark side, at least one of the candidates is a convincingly bad choice:
Hillary Clinton has no military experience except for being the spouse of a draft dodger.
Her claim to fame is universal health care which was a bad idea when she was in the white house, and its worse now. If that goes through, you will wait hours and hours if not months to see a doctor. Kind of like we Veterans often have to do now, except worse because there are ten times as many people as Veterans.

The bright side is getting legislation passed that is good for the whole country. The dark side is the deals you had to make to get the good side to happen.

Bright: The day everyone got together after 9-11 to ensure the safety of this country. I would prefer an incident of that magnitude not be the catalyst.
Dark: Meaningless attacks for party advancement. Verbal distrust for fellow politicians without legal follow up (lip service for their constituents only).

Bright side: Freedom to express one’s views
Dark side: Dealing with other people expressing their views
I’m only kidding. I value everyone’s opinion as long as it is coherent.
