ok, this has nothing to do with this video but why is youtibe only letting me watch lame rick mercer videos (which **** *** becuase hes not remotely funny) and other canadian videos but not music, american political, or really anything interesting in general? is it my computer or did ontario block youtube?
Its an unfortunate, but common reality that anyone wanting to gain influence rhetorically must play down the fact that they are Canadian (especially in the states). I don’t think he actually felt he was American or British when he made these statements. If you are worried about Ignatieff being “un-Canadian” I think I’d be more scared at how willing Harper is to cut funding for Canadian media, and shows like these.
errr … but saying she’s the Queen of England is like saying she’s the Queen of … Quebec or Tasmania… … so agreed, she can’t be stripped of her crown of “Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland etc… ” because of a weird flavour of gum mixing peppermint with tropical fruits with hints of cannibalism (yes you, Minty Mango Man) said so.
Kenny vs. Spenny is awesome. Love that show. Unfortunately we are talking about a WHOLE country. I could understand having a bad channel, but in Canada it seems the whole television is filled with oddities.
Even so, groups of Americans are usually on their *** because of the TV here, so no complaints.
Also along with Queen Elizabeth II being the Queen of the UK (Which includes England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales) she is also the Queen of the Commonwealth realm, (which includes Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and other parts of Oceania,The Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Grenada, Jamaica, and other parts of the Carribean) Which is why her face is on the currency of those places. Hope that clears up some of the confusion
Lol ACTUALLY, ‘technically’ she is the Queen of England, as England is part the United Kingdom of Great Britain and NORTHERN Ireland (not the Republic of Ireland, not since 1922 at least). But yeah there is a lot of confusion on the diff between England and the UK. England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are their own countries, however they are all constitutionally tied under one political system and that makes up one unitary sovreign state (the UK) led by one PM, and have one monarchy.
